See the latest features and improvements we've released for animal businesses and their customers.
We've continued refining two of the biggest areas of AnimalBooking: business reporting and the mobile provider experience. Reports now make better use of historical and imported activity, while menus, filters and pop-outs across mobile feel smoother, more consistent and easier to use.

AnimalBooking Reports has been upgraded with deeper business analytics to help providers understand revenue, bookings, customers, services, staff, locations, resources and payments in much more detail. Providers can now go beyond basic totals and see how different parts of their business are performing over time.
This is a meaningful business-management upgrade, not just more charts. Reports now gives providers a clearer picture of how their business is really performing — so they can make better decisions about pricing, staffing, capacity and growth.
Across Overview, Customers, Services, Staff, Locations, Resources and Payments, Reports now feel much more like a mature business intelligence dashboard than a simple stats page — a clearer picture of where revenue is coming from, which services are performing best, which customers are most valuable, how staff are performing, where capacity is being used, and how the business is trending over time.
The Bookings page has been reorganised for businesses handling larger booking volumes, with a denser desktop table, summary cards, smarter views, advanced filtering and bulk actions.
Bookings has been rebuilt as a proper high-volume workspace, making it faster to find, triage and action bookings at scale.
The result is a bookings workspace that scales with busy operations rather than getting harder to manage as volume grows.
New bookings now have a dedicated unread state with clearer visual treatment, making it much easier to scan a busy booking list and identify new activity. Once reviewed, the booking returns to its normal state.
The mobile Bookings experience has been significantly refined for providers managing bookings on the go.
Managing bookings from a phone is now faster and less fiddly, with a layout purpose-built for smaller screens.
When adding or editing a staff member, providers can choose a Custom access role and individually control permissions rather than being limited to fixed role presets — giving growing teams more control over who can do what.
Teams can now fine-tune access for each staff member instead of relying only on fixed role presets.
This makes it easier to grow the team safely, giving each person exactly the access they need and nothing more.
Staff management has been upgraded across desktop and mobile, with a clearer staff list, search, schedule views and richer staff profiles.
Providers can now better control how services are organised, with manual ordering, drag-to-reorder where supported, alphabetical and price-based sort options. The chosen order is reflected on the public booking page so customers see services in the intended order.
Toggle switches and selection controls have been visually refined across AnimalBooking so their ON/OFF states are much clearer.
Reports have also been refined for mobile, with a persistent active date range, cleaner custom date selection and horizontally scrollable report tabs.
Create new services faster by duplicating an existing service and editing only the details that need to change.
Providers can now duplicate an existing service to quickly create similar services without rebuilding pricing, settings and service details from scratch.
Once duplicated, the copied service can be edited independently before publishing.
Assign staff members to bookings, set individual availability, and see who's working what at a glance. Perfect for salons and multi-trainer businesses.
Customers now receive automatic email and SMS reminders at just the right time — booking confirmation, 24-hour heads-up, and payment requests. Fewer no-shows, zero effort.
One tap sends your customer an SMS and email letting them know you're on the way — ideal for mobile groomers, dog walkers, and transport services.
Providers can filter the standard calendar and occupancy views by service to focus on the bookings and capacity that matter to them.
Ongoing and recurring-style services have a clearer start-date selection flow, making long-running services easier to set up and manage.
Set up weekly, fortnightly, or monthly recurring bookings that generate themselves automatically. Great for dog walking, training, and agistment clients.
Customers can enter their card when requesting a booking without being charged immediately. Providers can approve the request and charge the authorised deposit or full amount, with the payment method retained securely for later balance collection.
Request-to-book services can hold the request for provider approval instead of taking payment immediately, giving providers control before a booking is confirmed.
Date-range services can also accept a one-day booking where appropriate, giving providers more flexibility without needing a separate service.
Providers can move customer, animal and booking data into or out of AnimalBooking using structured import and export tools, making migration from another system easier.
Providers can require customers to select or add the animal being booked for specific services, ensuring essential animal details are captured before the request is submitted.
Providers can define drop-off and pickup windows with custom instructions for services such as daycare, boarding and grooming.
Providers can remove incorrectly created or test bookings separately from cancelling genuine bookings that should remain in history.
Providers and their team can keep internal animal notes for behaviour, handling requirements, warnings and preferences without exposing those notes to the customer.
Add-ons configured per day can automatically multiply by the selected booking length, so extras for multi-day stays are priced correctly.
When a provider creates an agreement for someone who is not yet in the system, AnimalBooking can create the customer record so their details and future activity stay connected.
Resource allocation now shows occupancy, remaining capacity and FULL status so providers can quickly see what is available for a selected booking or service start date.
Providers can set an editable service start date and align billing to the service period, with the relevant dates visible to the customer.
Date-range booking calendars can highlight the selected stay and show booked or unavailable dates more clearly, making multi-day bookings easier to understand.
The booking flow can skip steps where there is nothing for the customer to choose, reducing unnecessary clicks and making checkout faster.
Providers can customise the service name and description shown to customers instead of being limited to a fixed template.
Providers can choose how platform or booking fees are handled within their service pricing, with the preferred fee treatment editable per service.
Sell 5- or 10-session packages customers redeem against future bookings. Customers save money, you get paid upfront — win win.
Providers can link resources such as paddocks, stables, yards or rooms to services and allocate an available resource to each booking.
Services such as boarding and agistment can accept arrival and departure dates and calculate bookings across a selected date range instead of forcing a single appointment time.
Providers can set capacity for services and linked resources so AnimalBooking can stop additional bookings once all available spaces are taken.
When a service or required resource reaches capacity, unavailable times or dates are blocked so customers are guided to an available option instead of submitting a booking that cannot be fulfilled.
Providers can send agreements and payment steps to customers they add manually, allowing the customer to review, accept and pay without the provider recreating the booking.
Service setup can adapt the fields shown to the booking type selected, helping providers configure appointments, date-range services and ongoing services without irrelevant options.
Newly created and custom services can appear on the provider's public profile so customers can discover and book them directly.
Customers can now view upcoming bookings, manage their pets, update their address, and reschedule or cancel recurring appointments online — without calling you.
Automatically add a percentage or flat surcharge on public holidays, weekends, or custom date ranges. No more manual price adjustments during Christmas or Easter.
For transport services (horse floats, pet taxis), customers enter pickup and drop-off addresses and get an instant quote based on real route distance — or request a custom quote.
Each service can now have its own hours and breaks on top of your general business hours — close grooming on public holidays while day care stays open, for example.
Charge the first pet at full rate and each additional pet at a discounted rate. Perfect for multi-dog households booking daycare or boarding together.
Collect the information you actually need — vaccination status, behaviour notes, medical history — with custom questions shown during or after booking.
When you're fully booked, customers can join a waitlist for their preferred dates. You get notified when a spot opens and can offer it instantly.
